A Happy New Year to you all, bit late I know. The year did kick off with a busy few weeks of work, and again, none of which I can post as yet.

But I also produced quite a few beer clips and labels for one brewery or another, and here are two of the ones that are not embargoed at the moment.

One of my new years' resolutions was to bake more bread, that's already ticked and done and I'm onto my 7th loaf today.

Other, none specific promises to myself, are to finally get my last 2 picture books completely finished and off to some publishers, or agents maybe.

What a great job this was to work on. Magic Forest will be an online game and since it has not been fully released yet I can't show more.

There are many more pieces of artwork in this set and hopefully more sets to follow.

The tree was illustrated in an afternoon and owes a lot of hard work saved - to Photoshop's custom brushes.

I created brushes for 'creeping vegetation' as well as ivy, leaves and flowers.

Parts like the steps, door, trunk etc were all painstakingly illustrated but the vegetation was more or less 'brushed on' magically.

The tree scene has inspired a few Picture Book ideas, and maybe even an App.

Imagine clicking on the door and finding steps up, and steps down!

This was one of a set of colourful cards I illustrated and designed as part of a new magic trick. It is produced and published by Razamatazz Magic and has special regards to Wayne Dobson, who first invented the fun and intriguing card trick.
I've performed this trick for young relatives and with only minimal rehearsal, it went down a storm.
