These illustrations are 'photo realistic' visuals commissioned for a pitch by a Leeds agency.

They turned out to be quite a challenge for me. So it was off to the supermarket to buy up lots of examples. The real product looked appalling, and in fact most of the competitor products, when unwrapped, looked really unappetising - hence the need for the illustrated facelift on the wrappers and marketing images.

These were also produced fairly quickly, from start to finish in less than a week.

Ice cream is always tricky to depict, if you don't get it just right it can tart to look like flaked fish or mashed potatoes.
